For many conditions, long term medication may benefit your pet, and under these circumstances Hawthorne Lodge can provide repeat prescriptions.
We ask that clients give at least twenty four hours notice when ordering repeat prescriptions. Animals on long term medication will need regular checks (typically every three months) to assess progression of their condition and monitor for any complications. In addition to ensuring the best treatment, this is also an ethical obligation stipulated by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. A charge is usally made for these consultations.
Written prescriptions are available on request, so that medication can be obtained elsewhere. Providing written prescriptions may not be appropriate for animals that are hospitalised, or that need immediate treatment.
Further information on the pricing of medicines and consultations is available from the practice on request.
